It's the month of LOVE and I ask why do we wait til February to show those the gift of love to everyone. There are so many times I wonder if the people I love so deeply can even fathom how much I love them. I am a person who shows love by checking in and being there. I am not a touchy feely person but I love an actual gift from others but I am a truly terrible gift giver. Since I am not the kind of person who gives a gift I can only hope that those I love the most can see what I give up to make sure they are the happiest they can be.
This week my baby, Wynston, went skiing with his Parran and cousin. It was hard to let him go and I seriously worried EVERY minute if he was safe.
I knew he was living his best life in a place that I was not able to bring him. I hope he felt my love as I was letting him go somewhere so far without me.
As for Wyatt, I can only hope he feels my love every day when I wake up and tend to all of his needs. We laugh together when things get rough and a little awkward. It can't be easy being taken care of when you are 16 years old.
I hope he knows that I am there for all the craziness even when it is totally exhausting. Sometimes I question why would he ever act this way and then try to understand the why....and show that my love is truly unconditional.
And to my heart and best friend, Patrick, during the month of love...wow it is a true balancing act. With a special needs child at home it's hard to be our own people, while still finding time to be a couple and to also be parents it is truly a Jenga tower and sometimes we do it well and many times we don't but we always eventually find the sweet spot to keep the tower from crumbling. I can't imagine life without my rock, without my Netflix watching partner, without my wine and scotch drinking companion, without my car loving spouse. Even as times continue to get tougher I want him and my boys to know that I will love them unconditionally, not only for the month of love and for the good fun times but for everyday going forward.
